    Hi

I have a notebook (Acer Aspire 9302) that has a 120gb HDD divided into 3 partitions. One partition has XP, the other has Vista Ultimate and the third has all my bits and pieces on (just a non-os partition I use for storage).

My question is this - using the Vista Ultimate complete PC backup function allows me to also backup the XP partition, or so it seems.

Would I be able to take that backup and "restore" it to another notebook with a 250gb HDD?

I'm looking at buying a Dell Vostro and thus thought this may be an easy way to do a complete transfer of what I have on my Acer.

I know I'll have to find the Dell drivers (or take them from the disc they supply) but would I be able to do what I'm thinking I can or would I encounter severe issues trying to do it - i.e. the machine won't boot into either OS so that I can put the correct drivers in...

Thanks in advance for any advice :)
