My new Legion 5 laptop came with Windows 10 1909 preinstalled and i just installed all of the Windows updates and now its requesting me to install Windows 10 2004. My question is will i miss any features and stuff if i dont install Version 2004? Windows 10 is already a pain to use even after following the guides here....

Surprising that even Windows 7 beats Windows 10 Pro 2004 in Fire Strike. It’s just barely behind LTSC because of Windows 10 2004 being such a sucky piece of crap.
These results are with the CPU at 52x on all cores and the GPU running default clocks.

What is interesting is the Windows 7 graphics score is really good (which is historically unusual for Fire Strike) and the physics test is worse (also unusual to ever see an example of that in any CPU benchmark) but the combined score is much better overall, especially compared to Windows 10 Pro 2004.
TL;DR – Windows 10 2004 is a piece of crap and here’s the proof. (No surprise here… totally expected.) Newer is NOT better. Especially where Windows is concerned.
And, here is a side-by-side look at the best overall scores for Windows 10 2004 vs Windows 7 vs Windows 10 LTSC 2019 (in that order, exactly as it appears in the screenshot) .

The biggest improvement for me is how Windows deals with mixed refresh rate monitors. I'm using a 60Hz external monitor in addition to my 120Hz laptop panel. On previous Windows builds, if I had hardware accelerated content, such as a YouTube video, playing on the external monitor while I was gaming, my internal panel would get locked at 60Hz and the game would start stuttering like crazy. This is no longer the case with 2004, and mixed refresh rate displays in a multi-monitor setup work properly as intended now.
In addition, 2004 introduces Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling on Pascal and Navi GPUs onward, which shifts video memory management from the OS to the GPU, and can potentially improve performance and reduce latency. This doesn't seem to matter much for current games, but may become more important in future titles.KING19, Aroc and katalin_2003 like this. -
I see and thank you guys for the info, It just more proof that Windows 10 is a trash OS even its updates are not worth the hassle... Tbh i wish i can go back to Windows 8.1 or even 7, Linux is another option if it gets to that point.. Also i miss the auto brightness settings in the power options which was very helpful especially on laptops
Another problem that been annoying me that after a restart/hard reset it takes about 2 or 3 mins to boot to the login screen and my laptop uses a NVMe SSD, I even reinstalled windows and the same issue still occurs. -

@KING19 - how does the NVMe benchmark look? Does it perform as expected? If you run CrystalDiskInfo does it show any errors? Also, look in Device Manager and see if all of the storage controllers look correct. If you are using default Microsoft Windows drivers for NVMe and SATA you may need to install drivers that are more specific to your hardware.

I have the 250GB WD Blue SSD in one of my old. And it boot up quite fast. I see your current laptop is a AMD system with NVMe. AMD is slower to boot but 2 min is bad. Maybe there is an bios update for this? https://www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-vs-intel-which-pc-boots-faster
See also Recommended AHCI/RAID and NVMe Drivers (Or see what drivers the Notebook OEM have on their support download page).
You can also use Autoruns.exe to disable tasks to see what software that hamper the startup. Used with care.
Edit.
Just got my Lenovo Legion 5 4800H + 1660 Ti and putting it through its paces! So far, great thermals and quiet too! reddit
Screwed up firmware and software is a disgusting thing! Pair it with a OS as Win 10 and you have a nasty mix.Last edited: Sep 15, 2020jclausius, KING19, cfe and 1 other person like this. -
I agree with you there, I never had a problem with any OS like this, even my old laptop reboots faster than this. Also i forgot to mention when using DDU it boots into safe mode fast like normal... It could be a problem with AMD Processors so maybe a future BIOS update might fix this problem or even updating to Win 10 2004..Attached Files:

Another option is to try a standard Sata ssd. They come in M.2 and Sata 2.5" form factor.
Third option... Try out another Win 10 versions for trouble shooting on OS level.... Windows and Office ISO Download ToolKING19 likes this. -
I only have one 2.5 SATA SSD but its being used by my old laptop atm.
I tried repair function and it didnt help. Also i tried installing the AMD chipset drivers on their site and nothing changed, I disabled USB boot in the BIOS too. Personally imma leave it alone because im burnt out atm. Gonna accept its a bug and maybe Lenovo will release a BIOS fix for it in the future. I rarely restart my laptops unless im installing windows updates and/or doing driver updates. -
Update: Somehow i fixed the problem. After updating both the AMD and NVIDIA drivers again after Win10 keep trying to install older drivers i decided to uninstall AMD's Driver software because the software stopped working after being incompatible with the current driver and used DDU again and allowed Win10 to reinstall the AMD driver. One problem through, on the device manager it says i am missing a driver but no clue of what driver it is but now Win10 boots up fast as it should after a restart.

What is the hardware ID for the unidentified item in Device Manager with no driver? (You can find the hardware ID by selecting Properties, going to the Details tab and selecting Hardware Ids from the drop-down menu.)

It looks like this. I think its a missing AMD driver because this popped up on windows update. Personally i dont want to install it if its going to bring back this issue. Windows 10 is a truly POS OS....

Bump*
The same issue popped up again after updating the AMD drivers so i can use freesync but i found a true fix for the issue and this problem is an known issue for anyone who uses a AMD system.
Uninstall the AMD Audio CoProcessor driver under system devices in device manager and allow windows updates to reinstall the driver or find an update for the driver if you want.
