I have been through 4 different laptops with 14" WXGA Glossy Displays.
HP 6515b - 14" LG on ATI Onboard Graphics
Vostro 1400 - 14" LG on X3100 Onboard Graphics
Vostro 1400 - 14" Samsung on X3100 Onboard Graphics
Acer AS4730z - 14" Samsung on 4500 Onboard Graphics
My experience was the display on the HP had the best colors. On the displays on the intel laptops the colors were not that vibrant. It was a subtle difference but one never the less. I tried changing the Saturation/Gamma, etc in the Intel utlity but it did not help. I recently found that Windows automatically does a 2.2 Gamma Correction and downloaded a free utlity call QuickGamma wherein you can reduce the gamma from +2.2 to 1.4. This helped make the colors a lot more vibrant.
It's a free utility. Give it a shot.

I'll second that, I had an HP G50 with x4500 that looked terrible until I ran quickgamma on it, I think I went for 1.8 though as that was what I've read is ideal. Regardless it brought the screen to life because it looked terrible at default settings, my DV6609WM had the same screen and looked much better out of the box (had nvidia 7150go)
