I just did a clean install of Vista. What is the fastest way to update it to Service Pack 1 (SP1) without going through all the smaller updates leading up to SP1? My understanding is that all of these are included in SP1 anyway, so why is Windows Update not smart enough to reflect this?

    Please help.

I think there's a standalone Vista SP1 pack somewhere on the Microsoft website. Then there are the small updates using Windows Update I suppose~

Yeah, just go to microsoft.com, and open the downloads section. Search for "Vista SP1 standalone". Download and install. My advice would be to save the file to some preservable media for future use.

Edit: In a good mood cause my new computer came, so here you go: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...6d-5ebb-413b-89c9-cb3d06d12674&DisplayLang=en

    Good luck!

Superedit: You can order a standalone SP1 dvd for free from MS, as well. Obviously, not immediate.
