Am I right that Quicktime still doesn't work properly on x64 versions of Vista?
One thing that I find amazing is that there isn't (or at least I haven't found) a comprehensive list anywhere on the internet of Vista x64 application compatibility. There are small lists here and there, but they aren't date stamped, and much of the info is outdated (apps that were once a problem and have since been fixed). Why wouldn't Microsoft have a page that collects this info? Why wouldn't someone else create a page with date stamps so you know how old info is?
Separately, it's amazing to me that software companies don't do more to make clear their x64 support status of their products.

I agree that software developers should list x64 compatibility on their site...if the intention is to release x64 software. Some developers will not be releasing anything x64 for current products. In fact, I bet a lot of companies will make people buy the next (or next next) version to get that compatibility. However, I will acknowledge that, since x64 is mainstream now, sites should at least specify whether or not it is compatible.
I was able to get Quicktime Alternative and K-Lite Codec pack to work with Vista x64. Quicktime sucks anyway, the only reason I use it is because my digital camera only shoots in .mov. I hate the player, and I really hate the service that, like most Apple services, weaves itself pretty well into your computer. -

do a search for the Bonjour service in your computer. see how you can't get rid of it? thank quicktime for that.
