    Hello all,

I just upgraded the ram on my friend's laptop from 2gb to 4gb.

Just wanna ask if this warrants a upgrade from 32bit to 64bit? She's on Windows 7 Ultimate just so you know..

And if that's the case, how do I go about installing from 32bit to 64bit? Is there a need to buy it? Or can I just download it off digitalrivercontent through this link http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...download-links-just-like-vista-before-90.html.

btw I checked task manager, under performance, my total RAM is only 3070. Is this normal?

Thanks for the advises guys. Appreciate it!

Ok, thanks for your prompt reply.

Hmm, would you recommend me changing to 64bit? I would not want to take the extra trouble if there's no substantial improvement in performance!

Congrats on x64. It'll allow a lot more room for future HW expansion.

Good move, just out of curiosity does win 7 task manager see all 4 gig now?
As long as you do not try to run 16 bit stuff you should be fine.
