Is there any way to set the AVG Free Update manager to download the update on it's on? I have everything set to automatic, but every day or so, I need to manually download an update for the update manager. It's very annoying! I know other people who are having this problem.

    Anyone know of a solution?

I don't think you understood. It automatically downloads updates like definitions. But when the update manager needs updating, the system tray icon turns gray and I get "one or more components is in an error state." Then I have to manually go to and update the update manager.

That link you gave me for going under the service menu. There is no "schedule daily update" under the service menu. Also mine is set to update when the computer starts up. Only problem is, it detects an update for the update manager then it refuses to install it without my holding it's hand.
