In my attempt to delete Norton 360 from my system , i accidentally deleted a random key that i did not even get to see the name before i deleted it. The thing is that when i searched the "Norton" in the "Find" field, it came up with a list of registry keys as results.
Me, thinking that all of them belonged to Norton, thought that i should delete them all.
So then, i scrolled up to the top of the registry results and deleted the very first key that was there. I then stopped before deleting another because i realised that the next one i was about to delete had to do with Microsoft Office 2007.
Now im pretty worried as i do not know what i deleted. Is there any way to somehow restore that key that maybe useful or not?

System restore..
I wouldnt worry about it until you start getting an error for one of the programs (if that key was even important) -
Ok thanks i restored my system...i feel better now

Also, before making any changing in in the registry, its always a good idea to make a backup of it(should be file-export).

Glad system restore fixed it; what was it you deleted?

Please read.

If you had done something like this wouldn't you even be remotely curious enough to retrace your steps and find out what was accidentally deleted?
Please don't be narrow minded.
BTW, what did you delete? -
He's lucky he didn't fubar. Obviously he doesn't know what he deleted; hence the title of the thread: Random Registry Key deleted.
If system restore actually did replace the key back, he can check, but he did a Find, which is hard to retrace.
All in all, he learned his lesson before messing with the registry. Always make a backup.
Random Registry Key deleted.
