I have a question that i dont know if its possible. When you first get a laptop that has all the crapware is there a way to re-install windows right away (for free) so that you have just windows and not all the add ons? I think ive heard of this or im loosing in on a Friday afternoon waiting to go home....

Yes, it is possible if you have a copy of Windows that is not the Restore CD that was included with your laptop. Just use your key located on the bottom of you laptop to authenticate. That should do the trick.

Download your version of Windows 7 with SP1(integrated image) as an iso and then burn the iso to DVD,,,install with it and use your windows 7 license, activate it. manufacturers are using bulk licensing ,,,that way no MS disk is included,,got to make your own...........lol... Its a torrent file,so use a torrent download manager...... All Free.........

Additional Fun:
You can use RTSevenLite to integrate your win 7 sp1 iso with Internet Explorer 9 and add recommended and critical updates, where they take,,that way your update time will be a few minutes,,,,,,,,

or Buy a Windows 7 Disk Set-have two windows 7 licenses(Hint: get retail ver of license if buying).... I have two Vista Licenses( one oem and one retail) and One Windows 7 Retail License, I use the retail licenses and get instant activation and my oem is backup......Yes,,I have read the 'winver' license section,,try it you'll like it. I have used the oem bulk license before,, I prefer the retail licenses, more perks , like better enclosure, license attached to retail box,in the retail act instead of oem act,,ect......rt7lite can be of use here as well, ect.
Cheers

Here is a thread about downloading LEGAL copies of windows 7. (Thats assuming you want Windows 7)
http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...-7-download-links-just-like-vista-before.html
If you use this, you may have to activate windows by telephone, as it may not activate online!! Pretty easy enough though!!
If you used this, you will need to find the drivers for the machine, which can be located on the website of the laptop manufacturer, or from the specific component manufacturers website.
If you went this route, you must be aware, that, depending on your machine, you may not be able to restore the machine back to factory default (with all the crapware) after, as installing a fresh copy of windows screws all of the stuff that the manufacturer puts on to restore it. I know Acer do this, but not sure about other manufacturers. -
Before you do anything else, make recovery discs.
