    Hi All,

Bought my wife a new 8GB SDHC card for her camera, only to find it wouldn't work (I thought it would after a 5 minute google search...guess I should have spent more time to confirm).

So now, I am trying to find a valid use for this pink elephant ;).

I read the tips post, mentioning ReadyBoost (which I think is the same as Lenovo's TurboMemory)?

Can I use an SDHC 8GB card in my Vostro 1500 for ReadyBoost? Would it even be worth it?

I currently have a 320GB 5400rpm WD drive and 4GB mem and am running Vista 64Bit Ultimate.

    Thanks for any input!

Ready boost and turbo memory are different. And turbomemory is not lenovo's its intel's.

    http://www.intel.com/design/flash/nand/turbomemory/index.htm

You can put a turbo memory card into your vostro also, there is a slot for it on the bottom.

Ok, now about ready boost. Yes you can use it, but readyboost can only use up to 4gb. So the other 4 would go to waste.

Basically with your system, you would not want to use either technologies because it would actually slow down your system. You have a very fast hard drive and 4gb ram already.

What i would do is use it to back up your data on. Format it as nfts, and then use microsoft's sync toy to constantly back up your data to the card.

I like your idea for the sync power toy.
