Would Ready Boost still help even though I have 4Gb of Ram available?

I'm experimenting with RB on my quadcore desktop w/ 4GB RAM. Personally speaking I can't see any obvious differences in performance.

Actually what does ready boost do again? Does it cache files on the ready boost drive so the hard drive does not have to do it? Like internet cache files?

Even when I Had 2 GB of RAM on my lappeh ReadyBoost was just a joke really! I didn't even feel a 1% difference! If u waant faster performance, just get RAM, its very cheap
