Does anyone have a solution for the problem where hitting the apostrophe and backslash keys in Vista randomly produces an é

I thought it had been fixed in SP1, but this doesnt seem to be the case.

Just wondering, why you would need to do an apostrophe and then a backslash. o_O

I did manage to find something over Google.

In short, it's a Vista bug... When you have more than 1 keyboard layout installed Vista will randomly switch between them for no reason.

I have the UK and US layout installed. No Bug. Does é belong to a different language ? (French ?)

    EDIT: You're right. I have problems sometimes related to @ and ". Inter-changed. Link ? :)

Yeah é is French, though it seems like other languages have problems too. I'm assuming that most of the above posters live in the US and/or picked US as their location during setup, which only installs the US keyboard layout.

I'm kinda surprised that Microsoft still hasn't fixed the problem though, considering how Vista is nearly 2 years old now. I suppose I now have another reason to recommend that people keep using XP :D
