Alright, sooooo. I like to theme windows pretty heavy. Heavy enough where I sometimes swap out system files like browseui.dll, and in this case explorer.exe. Typically it works out just fine, worst case is I don't like it or it doesn't work and I just use the backup I made. Err...my backup accidentally got tossed.
So could anyone with 64bit windows 7 send me a clean copy of explorer.exe so I can fix this.

IF my Win 7 64 bit upgrade from Asus shows up tomorrow I'll be able to help you out.

Sent. Check your gmail email.

You are the MAN. Rep point for you!
Every time I do a clean install of windows I'm like "alright NOT gonna mess with system files this time"...yeah that one really lasted.

spookyu, did you actually receive the file? The reason I ask is I received this in my yahoo email acct this morning from google gmail:
failed after I sent the message. (IP addressed removed by myself)

Some file types are blocked
As a security measure to prevent potential viruses, Gmail doesn't allow you to send or receive executable files (such as files ending in .exe) that could contain damaging executable code
Gmail won't accept these types of files even if they are sent in a zipped (.zip, .tar, .tgz, .taz, .z, .gz) format. -
Ahh shoot, I can't actually check right now. I'm at work and these government computers won't let me on gmail. I'll know in about 3 hours if that's alright?
This kind of sounds like a cheap trick, but maybe try changing it from .exe to like .jpg and I'll just change it back when I get it? -
Hey so...could someone still help me out here? I can think of lots of quick ways to send it other than through gmail...

HALT! I found a solution to my problem. Actually it seems to be a solution many problems. I give you 'sfc /runnow' or sfc.exe. Wonderful little built in windows tools that take a look at your system files and fix them. Only draw back I could find was having to reapply some windows updates (it apparently falls back to older files). A good tidbit to know.

I've got a better solution....stop messing with your operating system!
I say that with good intentions, not to be mean. -
What does "east" have to do with any of this?
-
Hah, I keep telling myself that too, I just get too excited when I cook up an idea.
Typo, it was supposed to be "easy" and you'll notice the t and the y key are right next to each other on a qwerty keyboard. I'm not normally that clumsy, sorry. -

Don't delete your files. Simply rename them.
Example, instead of deleting browseui.dll just rename it to browseui_old.dll
As far as windows is concerned, it can't find the file, so it's as good as deleting except now you won't be in trouble when things go wrong. -
Yeah I normally do that, I just wasn't paying attention this time. User error
Really east for someone with windows 7 64 bit to help me out real quick.
