    Hi...

I am looking for recommendations for the best (preferably free) webcam software to use along with the integrated webcam that my x201 has.

Please recommend. Also, what was the default webcam software that Lenovo ships with its units that have webcams? I did not notice anything before I clean installed Win 7 on my x201.

    Thanks in advance.

depends on what you need it for!?

Webcammax is a nice AllInOne utility.

Hi...thanks for the suggestion. I just need the cam software for video chats and conferences. Most likely, I will download the ThinkVantage version. Any idea how good or otherwise (in terms of complicated, footprint etc) it is?

When you say "for other purposes" you use Yawcam, what other purposes - if you don't mind my asking.

    Thanks

What do you need a software for in order to perform video chats and conferences!?? All you need is drivers and Skype for example... don't really understand what you need any special software for?

What programs like Webcammax allow is special effects like changing the background, putting clipart objects etc. - childish stuff mainly. But also to use it as a virtual camera in order to show pictures, to record from video camera and so on.

But for basic conference/chat all you need is the messenger program and a properly installed camera...

@Gracy123...ok. thanks. I don't use Skype. And, MS Messenger is out. Maybe Google Video Chat. Or, something else...don't know what yet.

Whatever you decide to use - all you need is the camera installed and no special software. That was my point.
