I'm planning on running a copy of windows xp in virtual mode with Vista utlimate as the host OS. I would appreciate if anybody can tell me about the recommended virtualization software.

The current choices I have are VMWare, Parallels & Microsoft VirtualPC.

I've used Virtual PC and VMWare. My favorite is Virtual PC because it's simple, easy to use, and compatiable with most Windows OS's.

virtualbox seems to be beating them(qemu, vmplayer, virtualpc) in terms of speed and fat.

One thing I don't like about vmplayer(at least my running of linux guest) is that the clock get skewed after sleep/hibernate, and suspend/resume is a must to me on notebook.
