Is there any way to do it w/out a Creative sound card (or other card that has a "record what you hear" feature)?

I know they got rid of it to prevent illegal recording of music, but I actually have had legal/legit purposes for it...

    Use Audacity for Recording Sound...

    Stereo @ 24 bit.

    Best sound recorder ever.

Coincindentally, I have a creative card and the 'what u hear' feature is very nice.
The card is about 50$ but well worth it.

I don't think Audacity will work for this if you're running Vista x64.

I think he's talking about having a Stereo Mix option in the audio mixer, not software to record with.

Total Recorder for all you poor suckers out there with Vista. Around $20 and it creates a 'virtual sound card'. It can actually capture audio streams in less time than it takes to listen to them.
