I had some documents on my windows 10 computer where i deleted into the recycle bin and deleted it from my computer. These documents got deleted few months ago i believe. Is there any way to retrieve these documents? Im not 100 percent sure what these documents are called but i think i have a clue.
Is there a way to recover old documents thats been deleted and if so, how can i do this? I had one or two important documents that i can no longer find on my computer... and that is either due to me deleting it or overriding it with other information and saved it which i doubt. But when you override a document, its impossible to check the previous copies right? However, i believe i deleted the documents in recycle bit and ultimately deleted them. Does anyone have any steps on how i can possibly recover something like this? The thing is im not 100 percent sure of the document name but if i saw name of documents, i can probably take a guess if that is the one.

I use a little program called Recuva (freeware) ... https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva
But if the drive has been written over since the files were deleted, the chance of being able to recover the documents is not good.
Nonetheless, Recuva will find references to deleted documents.

Last month, I encountered the same issues after I cut/paste data to sd card before formatting and after transferring the sd card went poof so I tried recuva with 10% success recovering only some images/thumbnails. -

Here's the thing trashcan once deleted that data byte is overwritten and recovery gets harder and harder especially if it goes past a day or worst 30 days. Data must be recovered that same day it is deleted any longer and recovery goes downhill. Always backup somewhere else if you always need the original document to go back to. That is the smarter route to go.
