    Hi all ^^

I would just like to ask, do/can recovery discs also re-create the recovery partitions on laptops (assuming you have deleted the all/inc recovery partition via window setup) during its restoring process? Thus enabling you to press F9 or whatever on startup to recover your windows and programs?

If so, does any one if asus recovery disc do that?

I'm asking this because I was told by a laptop sales person that no laptop manufacture provide recover disk that do that, thus once deleted its deleted for good and only the way to get it back is to send it back to the manufacture. I'm pretty sure recovery discs CAN recover/re-create the recovery partition assuming you do a full factory recover etc. As I recovered my recovery partition on my HP laptop. However I just want to confirmation.

Most laptops recreate the recovery partition when you run the recovery tool. Speaking of tools, don't ever believe salesmen ;)

    Ah THANK YOU :D

I was pretty damn sure that they do recover the recovery partition, after all most recovery disks comes in a set. He was constantly telling me that I deleted/killed the partition and there is no way to get it back unless they sent it back to manufacture. And then went on saying, dont I know that the recovery partition is bigger than 700megs... :eek2: ... and how the heck do you fit the recovery partition on a CD (ironically there was a OS recovery cd AND an apps& drivers cd on the desk that came with the laptop).... .

I did mention that they do recover the partition back and I've done it b4, but he just went on insisting that I've deleted it for good and no manufacture provide disks that can do that . Yet he is a computer wholeseller and tech dude in that shop. So I ended up not talking and nodding my head.

More confirmation would be great :p

HP's recovery disc will recreate the recovery partition. Be forewarned.. it will take a LONG time.. mine took 3 hours!

Every manufacture is differ. Acer Recover disks don't recreate the partition, which is actually a good thing. And it only messes with the C: partition :)

HP (like kanehi has stated) will recreate the recovery partition(leaving you no choice). So to avoid mess up other partitions, it a good idea to leave an good amount of unallocated space. Otherwise it will overwrite your other partitions. Can be a bit tricky, but I done it before.

    Not sure about other manufactures.
