today I left my notebook (an MSI GP60 20D) on and left it there for just a minute, and I came back to find it had restarted unexpectedly, it apparently had had a BSOD, this was the log it gave me:

Parameter 1: 00000000`00001000
Parameter 2: 00000000`00000000
Parameter 3: 00000000`00000ff0
Parameter 4: 00000000`00000025
It also says it was caused by ACPI.sys. I thought this problem was unique until I found out it had happened nearly a year ago and I had forgotten, the BSOD log from that time was a carbon copy of my new one i had today, so the error is the same, any idea what's going on?

ACPI.sys is a windows component used for power management, as to pinpointing the exact source of the BSOD, that might be difficult. -
I have recreated the error, I found that the error occurs in the benchmark program Passmark, during the 3D graphics test, it only crashes if I have ran the 3rd graphics test on balanced and then switched to high performance without restarting the program. I guess that makes sense since it has at least something to do with power settings. I have set my BIOS to default and i have not seen the error since, but I will keep testing Passmark.

Mainly Drives are responsible for BSOD Error. I think you hve checked your driver which are causing issues on your PC, i.e. ACPI Driver. If you get issue with this you will have to either uupdate the driver. If update does not work uninstall the driver through device manager and restart PC. Stil you find issue read

Just reset my BIOS to default and have been running Passmark, so far nothing has come up! fingers crossed it's been solved
and is not my GPU dying, lol.

Thanks for posting your query. I'm glad to help you regarding your BSOD Error. Ill appreciate if you could provide me details about your computer specifications- both hardware and software. That will be really helpful.
In regards to your issue, I would like you to clean and reset the Windows Store cache. Corruption of the cache is one of the important causes.
1. Press Windows Key + X simultaneously.
2. Select Search option.
3. Type WSReset.exe in the Search Box, click Apps icon.
4. WSReset.exe will be displayed in the search results. Right click that, and then click the Run as administrator icon at the bottom of the Start Screen.
Check for conflicting device drivers using Device Manager. Use the RegInOut tool to resolve problems with the ActiveX/ DLL file registration. Then follow the other steps discussed:
1. Press Windows Key + X simultaneously.
2. Select Device Manager.
3. Click the View menu, and check-up the sub menu named Show hidden devices.
4. Expand the root level entry, i.e. your computers name.
5. Do you see any hardware devices with a yellow color exclamation mark? These are the malfunctioning devices that have to be either updated to the latest versions or uninstalled, as the case may be.
6. To update a device driver, right click the device name and select Update driver software. To remove a device driver, right click the device name and select Uninstall option.
7. When youre done, please restart your computer for the changes to take effects.
