About three weeks ago I created a folder on my desktop entitled "Music" and later moved that folder off the desktop. Since that time, Windows insists on adding a "Music" folder to my desktop. It's become a game between me and the computer, it creates the empty folder and I delete it only to repeat the process. How do I convince Windows (Vista Business) to stop creating the nuisance folder?

I'd be interested too. I have been deleting the d/l of the WIC demo from my desk top for a week now.

Try to check if there are hidden files on it. Most likely, there could be a worm or virus trying to replicate that folder. I also had the same problem in one of the external storage drives. I found out that there is a hidden file on it. I tried deleting it, but after browsing the drive again, the folder reappears. Unfortunately, I have to backup the files, and reformat the entire drive.

It could have installed itself into the Desktop of both your user and the Default or All Users Desktops. Try searching for it on your C: Drive, including hidden and system files.

I thought I had. I deleted the folders and contents. Obviously I must have missed something. I'll give it another shot.

On Vista, Right-Click on your Start Menu icon, choose Properties, go to the Start Menu Tab, Click Customize, Scroll down and Check Don't Display this Item for Music, perhaps?
