Ever since I installed Google Talk on my computer a few days ago, I've been getting tons of error messages. After uninstalling it and running a few clean up utilities, I the errors persisted. It'd too much of a hassle to correct and I haven't reformatted this computer for some time, so I put in the XP CD. I tried booting to the CD several times, and in most cases, the computer won't even boot from it. In the rare instances where it actually does, I get error messages saying that some files are corrupted the setup cannot continue (i tried the CD in other computers and it ran fine, so the CD is good). Does anyone know the solution to this problem? Thanks

First off, you have gone into your BIOS and set your boot order to CD first? If you have a bootable disc, and set the option it should boot to disc every time without fail.

Secondly, sounds like you have a bad CD. Just because the CD is readable on the desktop doesn't mean the CD is good. What i would suggest is barrowing a XP disc and using your CD key. If you can't do that, order a disc from your mfg or Microsoft directly. If that isn't an option, you can try and rip the CD and burn it as a bootable disc. I've had discs that would give errors while loading, but i was still able to rip the entire thing and re-burn it.

The bios is fine and I pressed f12 to select boot source when the Dell Screen appeared. Anyways, I tried ripping the CD then burning it again right after my last post and it's now working perfectly. Nonetheless, thanks for the suggestions
