I am planning to buy a laptops
Nowadays, all laptops have "preinstalled Vista".. this means no INSTALLER CD.
How do I format that? Do I have to buy the cd?!

    Welcome to the forums :)
Pre-installed Vista only means that when you get your laptop, there is already a Windows installed along with the drivers [and some trial software known as "bloatware" - though some laptops do not have bloatware].Many of the laptops come with a recovery CD/DVD which restores the Windows to what is was before [though it will wipe out the partition containing the Windows].Sometimes, to get the recovery CD/DVD you have to add another $10 to your order list [It rarely happens that there will not be an option of buying the recovery CD/DVD, in that case, you can make them using some recovery software like Norton Ghost by yourself]
I think this explanation was enough.
Good luck with your purchase :)
