Lawrence,
I really don't know what to say to you. You are so polite and respectful to me, in our private conversations, but at the same time you just don't seem to listen or take to heart what I and others say to you.
We did everything we possibly could to discourage you from creating a tool that makes it EASY for a novice to create a registry change application, aka RegDevelop. We did everything we could to warn you how DANGEROUS such an application could be in the hands of someone who had no idea what they are doing, or worse in the hands of someone who was intent on creating mischief or criminal activity among the users of the resulting apps. We tried to tell you this was WRONG, and yet you didn't listen. You went ahead and ignored us and created the application. I just don't know what to say. I still think this is a TERRIBLE mistake. It's one thing for a novice to mess with their own registry, it is an intirely different thing for a novice to potentially screw up the registry of hundreds of other folks! I think the results can have horrible consequences. I hope my fears don't come to fruition. And I will do nothing to support this effort in any way shape or form.
Sorry, Lawrence. I do think your intentions are good, your efforts to enable novices should be applauded. Just not when it comes to this sort of thing. I think, as I have told you before, that your efforts should be directed to some other way to help out novices.
Gary
