Is there any registry cleaner for "idiots" that can be used safely, better to be free as well.

CCleaner is one of my favorites since it does clean out your system and does registery cleaner.

There is also Regscrub which is pretty easy and simple to use.

Both are free and user friendly.

I use the one that comes as part of "TuneUp Utillities 2006" ... paid
It groups the keys and so makes it easier to figure which can be deleted blindly and which need further inspection. Plus the bundle contains some nice tools one of which is registry defrager

I have used Ccleaner in the past, I think I will try now TuneUp Utilities also.

Ah, just remenbered, I heard somewhere in the forum, CCleaner is now bundled with yahoo toolbar. If so, it,s bad.

    aigle,
They give you the option of installing the toolbar if you want. Just make sure to read before you click. ;)

    Ccleaner is good.

I also like Regseeker which doesn't have to be installed to work and can run from a USB if you want to easily tune-up other computers. It also comes with some tweaks for adjusting XP too.

Another one that Chaz told me about and I use it now, is A1click Ultra PC Cleaner. You can find a trial version here: http://www.superwin.com/index.htm

Its not just for cleaning registry though. It cleans out your whole system and gets rid of alot of junk that accumlates over time.
