I foolishly used a registry cleaner without backing up my current registry settings, and I also dont use vista restore points. After i cleaned the registry, i played a bit of tf2 and then got a blue screen. after restarting my computer my antivirus (avast) popped up saying that i had run out of time on my license key, despite having at least 7 months left on it. Itunes also does not work, and my network icon on the bottom right does not show up, it only displays "No such interface supported". I would like a way to revert back to my old registry setting, but I dont know what to do at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some registry cleaner are rather rogue.
They simply clean your register like a brainless monster.
Registry errors or failure = system unstable and softwares screwed up
Try CCleaner, most trustable for me. Works well on fixing registry errors and does not spoil registry structure.
Tune-up Utilities is great as well. It fix registry error/clean registry in a nice manner. Moreover, you can defrag the registry(OMG)!
So far, these registry cleaners are most reliable to me.
I have tried Uniblue Registry Optimizer, this stuff caused my whole windows to be screwed up! my wallpaper gone, my startup option cant work well, sidebar destroyed, and many more.
Do not use it!
*Tips - Back-up your registry next time.
- Do not simply use lousy registry cleaner.
I do not back up my registry XD! Because CCleaner and Tune-Up utilities surely won't give me a problem. I used them for few years and they really giv me ZERO problem. -
Did that programme create a backup?
Use this to restore it to its previous state.
Registry cleaners can be dangrous, and on Vista have nearly completely lost their use.
I recommend a clean instal/recovery once you have the time - but restoring the old entries should solve the immediate problem. -

Unless you have created a few thousand random keys in your registry there is no real need for a registry cleaner in Vista.
You can use it - but it will not improve performance. -
Regardless, registry cleaners won't get this user's system working again.
Use system restore to go back to a working state. Be sure to pick a restore point created before you ran the registry cleaner.
And... which registry cleaner was it that messed up your system?
EDIT: Sorry, I didn't notice you said you have system restore off and no registry backups... I guess you should probably reinstall your OS then. -
To the OP, If you didn't back up the reg and you don't have a restore point to fall back on, you're gonna need to do a clean install. Just save any important data if you can. I strongly recommend Vista Manager, not only to keep your registry in good shape, but the rest of your computer as well. -
whoops, no backup.
