So I bought a new computer a few years back. It came with a trial version of Office 2007. After the 90 days (or whatever it was), I needed to call to purchase the full version. They emailed me an activation code to upgrade my version to the full, and I was all set.

Few years later, I decide to install Windows 7 and rebuild my computer. I figure that by buying the full version of Office 2007, I should have access to a download link. I couldn't find one anywhere on the Microsoft website, so I called CS. They told me that since I purchased the key online and didn't order a physical copy of the disk, I was only allowed to install it that one time. This can't be true, right?

Any help would be appreciated. This just doesn't seem right to me.

It doesn't sound right at all. What if you wanted to format,re-install your OS.It is true that there are no trial copies in the net since the introduction of office2010.Your best bet is to borrow a disk from someone and use your key..I bet it will work just fine...

I think this will work. I have to do this later today too. I purchased and downloaded MS Office 2007 online and no longer have a download link. I have MS Office 2007 discs, but the product key no longer works because it could only be installed on a limited # of computer. So I'm going to try using the discs, but with my more recent product key from my downloaded purchase. I'll report back, lol.

OP, just wanted to let you know that if you can borrow a friend's MS Office discs you can install it on your computer with your own product activation key. I just did this. I had done the same thing as you, purchased MS Office and downloaded it (I used their Ultimate Steal student discount), so I had the activation key but no longer had the download link. I was able to use my old MS Office discs (I also had another copy of MS Office Ultimate but the product activation key is no longer valid because it could only be installed on a limited # of computers, which was why I had to purchase Office again online) to install the software. I used the activation key from the copy purchased online. Hope this helps.

I was first going to point to Microsoft Office Online but it offers only 2010 version to me now and in Finnish so direct links wouldn't work anyways.

So I decided to dig a little deeper and found these:

Hack to Activate Microsoft Office 2007 Evaluation Trial Version My Digital Life
Download Microsoft Office 2007 Free Trial Demo for Evaluation My Digital Life
Direct Download Links for Microsoft Office 2007 Suites and Applications My Digital Life

Basically the last link has the Trial download links from Digitalriver site. Install without key and after that enter your key when it asks for activation. If you installed with a special trial key, use the trick in the first link to clear it.
