    So...
I have a XP copy and a vista copy for my m1330...

    so...

I want fast boot, and fast use (so xp most likley)

BUT, if i use vista, i can use my 8gb SD as readyboost...

So, will vista keep up with the SD or should i just reinstall xp back?

and i have used vista before, i use it on my desktop.. i have nothing against vista.

From what I hear, ReadyBoost won't do anything much if you have 2gb of RAM. For 1gb or less, it might help.

If you want better security, more built-in features, and better forward-compatibility, then choose Vista. XP has faster boot times, probably better raw speed, and of course, better backward-compatibiltiy. Either one is entirely stable if you use good drivers.

    No xp will seem faster
If you can live without the dx10 that vista has
    Go with xp

if you want readyboost for XP, look at eboostr (not freeware though).

I'm pretty sure readyboost formats the drive for FAT32 so you're stuck with a 4GB limit, it wouldn't use all of it for readyboost.

Vista's bloated, but not TOO bad. But nothing I'd pay for. Oh, and prolly the most annoying part of it is the wireless setup. I can have about 10 different windows open at a time just to configure/connect/manage my wireless networks/settings. :(

uhm, like.. uhm.. clicking on your connection and entering the key? :)

oh, and, I would've choosen Vista for sure. I'll never look back to xp again, except where I need to.

No, like clicking on the wless icon, then clicking on 'Connect to Network', then clicking on my network, and then entering the key and clicking connect. XP was simpler. Or when I have to disable/enable my wless, I have to click on the wless icon, go to 'Network and Sharing Center', and then click on 'Manage wireless connections' or something like that in the left-hand column. Stuff like that. It's more complicated than it has to be. ;)
