This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     For all of those that want to take their desktops with them, now you can (kind of). VNC is a wonderful program, but takes some time to master fully.

    The problem I have is that the ISPs are starting to block connections like this and there's no way to get them to add holes in their firewalls.

    Very true, but I would not suggest anyone using dial-up to access the desktop remotely...things just run to slowly.
