Guys,
I run XP pro SP2 on my TX1100 lappie and keep it clean of pretty much most extra software. I do have "XP looks like Vista" software from crytsalxp.net
Recently I have been getting these "Remote Procedure Recall" problems where the computer pops up a dialog box with says the above phrase and prompts me to shut down within one minute...more description of the problem is here:
http://forums.cnet.com/5208-6142_102-0.html?forumID=5&threadID=1482&messageID=16731
"The message says "NT AUTHORITY\SYST"
Then underneath that "Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service terminated unexpectedly"
Anyone know what could be the dealio??!! I was told it was the "Blaster Worm" and I did do the symantec patch for it:
http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2003-081119-5051-99
But the patch did the search and said no blaster worm found on my lappie.
Any help??![]()

There is also a removal tool from microsoft which they update regularly. That does sound like blaster though. Try looking for a list of its known aliases in Task Manager if you really think it is blaster.

Thx Admiral. I downloaded the "Microsoft® Windows® Malicious Software Removal Tool " and did a scan...nothing showed up...not sure what else to do..

I'm also running XP Pro SP2 and the same thing happens to me sometimes when I resume from standby. I still haven't figured it out. No sign of blaster on my machine.
