You need not reimage, you can remove/uninstall the update and will be reverted to IE 9.0.
Edit; this is just for those with Windows 7 where the update broke either Aero, WEI, Windows live mail or the calculator. There could be a few other issues for older systems. M$ to date has not fixed this and it is said to effect systems just with mixed graphics but my P79 does not have mixed graphics,

Wish you posted this earlier, already wasted a full day going back to my base image of Win 7 and reinstalling everything
Thanks for your efforts though, will keep this thread handy for the future if I come across a computer which has this.
PS: When I did search for that particular update, I didn't see it to even uninstall it, maybe that's because you say it comes bundled with IE 11? -
It is bundled with IE 10 and IE 11 now. Hopefully the system is working properly for you with the update not there.

What were the updates that u told me to not install once? I can't find that post
-
I think this was it. At least in reference to Aero and it is IE 10 or IE 11 that includes this update.

I went through two others but they were not the ones causing the issue, but there were posts where others (on a limited basis (ie. one off)) did have issues. When I found they did not fix me I reinstalled them.

Tanware, you stated that this update made you lose certain features on your gateway FX with win 7 innstalled on it? Still need to upgrade mine to 7, but I would like to be able to use the latest version of IE and not revert back to 9. What about if the update is never installed? Call me one of the wierd ones as I still use IE.
-
I use IE as well. The update is part of IE 10 and 11 now. Prior to it though Aero worked fine. I had not experienced it but it is said the update can break other things as well. Now the 9800m used in the 78xx series is a different video card than my 260m so it may not break. I do know on the P79xx it does break Aero.
Edit; just a heads up, if you specifically uninstall the KB update it reverts you back to IE9. -

When I installed IE 11, I kept seeing DWM errors in the event log, thus now when I format, I stick to IE9 and use Cyberfox as my main browser
