im trying to replace the taskbar that appears at the bttom of the screen with a objectdckand i need to now how to remove the taskbar and not have it keep appearing when i move the mouse to the botton of the screen.

i already have the objectdock have most of the features that the taskbar has and im looking for the few features it doesnt have. i already have it so it can open the menu im trying to find a way so it can open a folder that contains just the programs i have.

so any ideas on how i can completly rmove it, but still have te option to add it again from the control panel or something

ObjectDock has settings to remove the taskbar. It sometimes may appear for a half a second until objectdocks loads during bootup, but then is gone completely.

I can't give you exact instructions as I don't have it installed right now. Just right-click objectdock and look around in the settings. You'll find it :).

Also, to make it open a folder you just create a shortcut to it. Very easy. I prefer objectbar though :).

What do you mean? Just right click on the taskbar, unlock the toolbar, and then move it down.

But yeah as Greg said, objectdock has options for it. It's under General in the settings

The first one is the best one I can find.

Which do you like better? Objectdock or Rocketdock?

Create a folder. Copy shortcuts to any programs you want into that folder. Then drag the folder you just created to the dock.

Supposedly ObjectDock Plus has System Tray functionality if you're willing to spend the $20 it costs. Otherwise... I think there might be a System Tray sidebar gadget available... not sure though.
