A little while ago i was playing around with dual booting linux with windows, and used the Grub bootloader included with the linux dist i used. And when i tried recently to remove the linux partition, and reboot into windows, Grub came up with errors and wouldn't allow my system to boot. I got it to work again by reinstalling linux, but now i think that i just want to make my laptop a solid windows machine again. So, how do i remove the Grub Bootloader so i can start my lappy up? Would using the restore discs do it? (i know it means full restore) Or would "fixmbr" do it using the repair windows install option with a xp disc do it? Am currently using XP home and am quite proficient with computers.
Edit: whoops, put this in the wrong software section, Mods, will you move it to the right section please.

well i have only touched the surface with the GRUB Bootloader. However, you should be able to delete it in msconfig.
To do this: Start > Run > type "msconfig" (without the quotes) > click on the tab which is labled "BOOT.ini". Here you should see more that 1 OS or a object that is not your XP pro. I will post a screenshot of my BOOT.ini so you can compare.....I boot winXP Pro only, i no longer dual-boot.

Well i just booted into the repair console and used the "fixmbr" command. and now everything works fine.
Now i just have to figure out why when i start from a cold boot, it takes several minutes to finish booting/logging in when the login window appears. Anyone have any thoughts on this other problem? -
I dont know how to do it, but you could try changing the bootloader timeout. So that it would only stay on the screen for a few seconds.? i dunno though
