Trying to remove Mcafee virus protection through add/remove program, I get a message I get a message "legacy programs must be removed first". What's up with that. Mcafee was free through AOL. What do I need to do to remove Mcafee???

I have not had to remove McAfee recently, but a Google search on mcafee remove legacy found a reference to a McAfee Removal Tool.
