When I boot my computer, the User Name of the Administrator is shown and one only needs to type the password to gain access to the administrator account. How do I change it so that the Administrator User Name will be hidden and one needs both User Name and password to gain access? I need a solution for both XP and Vista.

what about changing the login for XP so that it is like 2000 and you need to type in the username as well as password? Do that in control panel -> user accounts -> change the way users log on and off -> uncheck option to use the welcome screen.

For Vista, the administrator account should be disable already. If not, disable it using the link already provided in this thread.

For XP, just use TweakUI from MS, you can hide/unhide any account with it.

But only hiding the Administrator account won't really do anything, anyone can press Ctrl-Alt + (Del twice) from the Welcome screen and get the classic login screen where you can enter the account name. What you should do is also rename the Administrator account.
