    Removing Vista Transformation Pack 5.5

    I removed it from the Control Panel and now my desktop icons still have the Vista look! Help!

    Your going to have quiet a time removing a Transformation Pack. I Installed it once and had to reinstall windows because uninstall of it and system restore had left Windows is a corrupt state.

    After that I returned to using WindowsBlinds and others.

    Wow, I'm glad I got that over with. I removed it because the start bar was still in XP style; the installer was badly put together. It uninstalled, but it left behind Vista icons. So I installed a trial version of some program that modifies the icon cache. I changed 3 icons back to normal, and the trial uninstalled itself, but in the process it emptied the cache and rebuilt it.
