I installed a few weeks ago, but now, fine it to be resourcing-hogging and have poor results. However, I can't seem to find a way to remove it. It doesn't appear in the add/remove programs (yes, i did select show updates) and it appears in the CCleaner uninstaller tool, but when I try to remove it, it says the program cannot be found. I also tried re-installing it several times to make sure that the installation wasn't corrupted, but that didn't work either. Does anyone have a remedy to this problem? Please

    Hi,

I see it in my add/remove and can be easily uninstalled.

But if you don't see it (Windows Desktop search 3.0) you can try removing it from Start/startup programs (it is where it is satrted on every boot).

If you want to completely get rid of it try this forum:

    I hope it helps,

    Ivan

I’ve gone to that website and tried the suggested methods already. However, none of them worked:

    #1
    Uninstalling versions 2.5.0.1082 and 2.5.0.1119

I went to the registry and found that my version number is 02.06.0000.0000. However, I can’t seem to locate the alpha-numeric characters he was talking about…

    #2
Using the MSN Search Toolbar Windows Installer (.msi)

When I typed in the command for this method, cmd told me that to “make sure the installer was valid and check with the vendor”. I tried downloading and re-installing again and the same problem appeared.

I’ve also gone to the Program Files folder where Windows Desktop Search is stored, but didn’t find an uninstaller program. I re-installed it several more times the same appeared: 1) Add/remove program doesn’t display an entry for the program (and yes, I did click “Show Updates”) and 2) CCleaner does show the entry for Windows Desktop Search, but when I click “Run Uninstaller”, it says the program cannot be located.

I Googled this problem, but one seems to have an definite answer as to how to remove it. Does anyone know if I could just manually delete the files and registry entries? I’m getting very annoyed at how unbelievable (if even) this can uninstalled!!!!
