Is it possible to remove the Recycle Bin from your desktop?
-
Why would you want to remove it?
-
It takes an icon space and some people like their desktop clean
I can't help you there, but I've seen it been done.
Kinda interested as well -
Download the TweakUI powertoy for XP (search microsoft.com)...it has an option to take the recycle bin off the desktop, plus it has some other cool stuff...
-
gpedit.msc
It has the option there, although I forgot where exactly -
-
I'm not sure if this works for everyone, but I know that on my computer (Windows XP Home) I can right click on my desktop>"Arrange Icons By">then uncheck "Show Desktop Icons."
-
right click on desktop > arrange icons by > show desktop icons
(assuming you want nothing on the desktop) -
if you want to use tweakUI, here is the link
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
You'll find the download link on the right side. It is a pretty useful tool. -
