    Ok, here's the deal...

I've been wanting to remove the Rescue and Recovery partition on my hard drive (a partition put on there by Lenovo), but Vista's partition manager won't let me delete it... neither would GParted in Ubuntu... so, I installed Ubuntu on the 4GB partition, therefore wiping out Rescue and Recovery... this is good, it's what I wanted. However, I wanted the new space (4GB) to be added to my Vista partition...

So, using the partition manager on the Vista DVD, I deleted the new Ubuntu partition. So, at this point, I have 2 partitions: a 20GB Ubuntu partition and a 76GB Vista partition. I also have 4GB of free space from the Rescue and Recovery partition. So now, I tried to boot up Ubuntu to use GParted to resize the Vista partition to use up the extra space... but I get a GRUB error. I think I screwed up Ubuntu's boot loader... so, I once again used the partition manager on the Vista DVD to expand the Vista partition to the entire drive.

Now, I still get a GRUB error, and I cannot boot Vista. I've tried repairing the Start up section on the Vista DVD, but it didn't solve it.

Any ideas on how I can reinstall the Vista boot loader? Thanks.

There is a repair boot loader option in the Vista dvd.

Unfortunately, when it asks me which install of Vista I want to repair... it can't find it. I'm sure this would fix it if it won't find it... thanks for the suggestion though.

Oh, and also, it has an option to add a driver for my hard drive so it can find the Vista install, but I don't know where this would be located...
