Recently I tried to repartition one of my storage hdd for Linux but Acronis flat out told me that it doesn't want to work on Vista 64. I know theres Live boot cds that do partitioning but I'm not sure if they do it safely without destroying data.

Also, free to use would be nice. I don't want to pay 50 bucks for something I would only use once.

I believe Ultimate Boot CD has tools that will do it.

Vista contains a disk partition editor that allows for resizing of partitions and what not. It is available by simply going to start and right clicking on computer then selecting manage, then expand the storage category and click on disk management.

Well, I tried this and it told me "access is denied" I even tried it on a different drive then the first (I have 3 drives).

As for Ultimate Boot CD, they ask for XP when building the cd image, does it work fine for Vista? Luckly I had a XP pro disk with SP2 or I couldn't make it.
