    Dear Expects,

I brought a Fujitsu S6520 weeks ago. I installed additional RAM, i.e. total 4 Gb.
It comes with Vista Home Basic. The problems are, comparing to XP,
    1/ Vista is much troublesome and difficult to use;
2/ Vista says it synchronizes with my HTC P3600i phone, but Outlook (2003) in notebook does not download new contacts and new appointments from phone. However, this phone works well with my company's notebook Fujitsu S6410 with XP.

I tried many many times to replace the Vista by XP. I always failed. Every time the notebook is booted with XP disk, the following message appears after some drivers are loaded:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you’ve seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive contollers. Checkyour hard drive to make sure is is properly configured and terminated.
Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

Please teach me how to replace Vista by XP.

    Thanks a lot

If this were the problem, it just wouldn't detect the HDD, nota crash.
Have you tried fixing your problems with Vista?
Try the Vista Tweak Guide on the top of this forum.

Could be my lack of experience, but I've never heard of that kind of problem during a fresh XP installation.

Is it a not damaged, good copy of Windows XP? Have you formatted the drive prior to installation? Are you booting with the XP CD or are you running the installation in Vista?

Thanks a lot for your inputs.

Have XP installed after the AHCI feature disabled in BIOS.
Drivers from Fujitsu web were installed.
    The machine works fine. :)

After that, find out that Vista is "faster" than XP, especially the time to start up and that to shut down.

But I will stick to XP.
