I just got the gigabyte aero 14 and am not much a fan of the touchpad. The touch pad is using ELAN drivers. I've only ever had laptops with synaptic drivers. Would uninstalling the ELAN driver and installing the Synaptic drivers make the aero's touchpad better?

Poking round myself trying to figure out why Win 10 always overides my Synaptic drivers, I found a reg entry that you can disable the so-called "high precision" touchpad. This basically kills all Windows integration with the touchpad - I can actually turn off the touchpad in the control panel and it'll still work, using the proper Synaptic control settings.
Not sure if this could help with the ELAN or not, but it makes the touchpad on my system much better to use

Dude you can't just install some other touchpad drivers and expect it to work

One needs to use the drivers made for they system and not think another driver swap will work of which it will not. Your asking for driver instability and will lead to problems down the road because of that driver instability.

Think you're looking for this. This allows you to use Windows Precision drivers instead of Synaptics or Elan.
