I would like to customize the icons for all my folders, but i can't seem to find a good tutorial/help about it...
I will not get any third party programs to () up with my system files.

Can't i just replace some .ico files or something? i am more than willing to replace them permanently.

Do you mean individually or just the default? Individual changes in Windows 7 is easy but of course you have to do them one at a time.........

Here's another way of doing it, that has worked successfully for me for all icons except "system icons":

On the Desktop, right-click the folder or file whose icon you wish to change, right-click on Properties, and then select Change Icon. When the new window opens up, you can either select from the icon choices given OR, even better, click the Browse button, which takes you to the C drive\Windows, and in the right-side column, there's a whole looooooooooooong list of files/folders to choose from. Go to any one of the icon folders and select any one of the many, many icon choices offered. Here's a list of my favorite icon folders, (and I think imageres.dll and Shell32.dll have the largest selection):

    Accessibilitycpl.dll
    Compstui.dll
    Connect.dll
    imageres.dll
    netshell.dll
    nvcpl.dll
    nvdisps.dll
    pifmgr.dll
    pnidui.dll
    setupapi.dll
    Shell32.dll
    shwebsvc.dll
    stcplx64.dll
    sud.dll
    syncui.dll
    themecpl.dll
    urlmon.dll
    wcnwiz.dll
    wininit.dll
    wmploc.dll
    wpdshext.dll
    wuapi.dll

You can experiment to your heart's delight. If you don't like your choice, try selecting another one, or two, or as many as you like, until you find one you like. You can do this for your Desktop icons, and the same icon should also appear in Quick Launch and Windows Explorer. Happy hunting!!!

I mean all folders so that when i create a new one, it uses my custom icon.
Yeah, but it works only for empty folders..
The main problem is with that the folders change back to default when i put something in them.
The changes just don't keep no matter what i do, whether i change it invidually or if i change all folders with fonduekid's link.

Second problem is with "my music" and such folders, which i can't seem to change either.
They don't even have the option to change icon in the properties.
