Hi, i have a brand new Acer Aspire 4315
it works wonders
i noticed there was a windows update, so i decided to download it.
Then i noticed how huge that update was, like 43k kb, think that's what i saw
So i canceled it! A little bit of the entire file was downloaded onto the laptop!
That's where the trouble is. Everytime i restart the computer, it ends up saying 'please wait' and then 'configuring update'.
BUT because i CANCELED the downloading, the update was not FULLY INSTALLED! BUT THE LAPTOP KEEPS ON TRYING TO CONFIGURE THE UPDATE, MAKING IT UNABLE TO CONTINUE TO THE DESKTOP, ALL IT DOES IS S-I-T-T-I-N-G THERE, TRYING TO COMPLETE THE UPDATE!
wich is still not fully downloaded.. Only a fraction of it was downloaded.
Was wondering, if i somehow could in the restarting-process, either formate
the laptop or make the incomplete update disappear, its brand new and got
Windows Vista in it, wich dosen't have a cd or anything, just had to turn
on the laptop and Windows Vista automaticly got installed.
IF i can formate it, will Windows Vista once again reinstall, all by itself, just like it did the first time i turned on the laptop? And how to formate it?
Is it possible to delete the incomplete update? (In the restarting process?)
Those are the questions i need answered.
A solution would be apreciated.
and please, if this is the wrong kind of forum, get this thread moved to the right place. Mouse dosen't work, i don't think i can copy and paste this, don't know how to.

Try a system restore to before you installed the update?
-
That's the thing i can't do, it dosen't even allow me to reach the desktop
-
Have you tried booting to safe mode? (F8 at bios screen)
-
thx for the advice, in the safe-mode it still tries to complete the update.
its like, the update was so big that it would've transformed the entire Windows Vista, that i downloaded a part of it made the computer transform allready the first time i restarted it.
the update is installed (half of it) and the computer is trying to activate it, no matter how many times it restarts -
You might just want to use the recovery partition to restore your computer, since it looks like a pretty big problem. Press Alt + F10 at the bios screen and you should be able to restore your computer from there.
