    Hello,

I have an Asus N53SV 15.6" mainstream computer, and it is screwing up. I have decided to restore Windows 7 on this PC to defaults, except I lost my recovery disks since I was moving. This being said, I don't have any form of backup to use either. Is there a way to restore my Asus N53SV back to its original condition?

    Thanks!

Usually a F10 should get you to your restore screen but to really get it fix you either need to buy the restore cd/dvd again or get a O/S and reboot your own O/S and download the driver from Asus site and self install the drivers and your own software and use it again. Those are you two options. And if the F10 doesn't find the restore partition then your left buying a new O/S and reinstalling from scratch or Ordering the cd/dvd from Asus.

All you need is to find the Asus Recovery in the main menu, then make the recovery dvd's with it and then you can reinstall Windows.

I am curious of what its wrong with this model N53, how long have you had it? I am about to buy a new laptop and this is one of the models I have in mind.

AFA I remember if the recovery partition is still there F9 shortly after power on will get you to the ASUS recovery partition. This will restore to factory settings and all user data will be gone. Better option IMO is the use Mr. DJ's method and get the latest drivers from here ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download N53SV

I messed around with some inaccessible files and did a bunch of things that normal people wouldn't do with their PCs. Overall, it's a nice laptop, but you might want to look at the Asus N56VZ or HP dv6t Quad for better options :)

And by the way, I did reclaim my copy of Windows 7 and I installed. Works perfectly, except TF2 crashing. Thanks!
