I moved my recovery partition to a portable HD and now want to move it back to my primary HD so I can restore the system to its original state. I copied the partion and its contents back to my primary HD but it isn't recognized. Is there a special name used for this partition. I have it set as logical, active -- is that correct.
Thanks for your help.

Did you not make the recovery DVD or CD set when you first got the machine? You can use those instead.
If not then, I am pretty sure the recovery partiton has to be the first partiton on the drive and it hase to be a special TYPE, I think it's an EISA partition if I remember correctly. It is a type that actually winds up being invisible to the OS.
