    Hi guys,

I've a MSDN license for MS office 2010 professional plus. I've activated this license online for current laptop. Now I have another laptop and I want to sell the old one.

I want to retract (deactivate) the MS office license on old laptop and active it on new laptop. Is it legal and doable? :D

    Thanks.

There's no process for it. You uninstall Office from the first one, install it on the second one, type in the key, and cross your fingers.

You may be prompted to call MS to sort out the activation.

You could maybe try the " Advanced Tokens Manager" to back up and restore the Office 2010 license to your new laptop.

My MSDN subscription comes with two Office 2010 Pro Plus keys. You could log in to the site and see how many you've claimed, if there's still one left you're set.

That said, this is Office, not Windows. Users should be able to uninstall the product off one PC and put it on another without having to repurchase, or in our case, consume another key.

You might give MSDN a call and ask them about it. They're usually pretty helpful.

    Retail licenses: (800) 759-5474
    Volume licenses: (866) 230-0560

    Have your subscriber ID handy.

If you do call, please replay and let us know what they said.

Just called yesterday, I dont have subscriber ID (code given to me by a friend). They said that uninstall did not help. If the key have multiple activation then I can install on another machine, and they will count it as another activation.

First of all MSDN or technet keys cannot be shared. Its against the license agreement!
