I would like to revert from UEFI to Legacy mode on my laptop for tweaking reasons, namely modded drivers installation.

Turning off secure boot will do the trick while keeping UEFI install intact w/o reinstall.SL2 likes this. -
I recommend to format the hard disk and convert to mbr partition using diskpart (inside windows installation)

AFAIK - MBR is format for drive smaller then 1gig anything higher uses GPT. Also never use a GPT drive for boot as that is a bad use of the capacity of larger GPT drives. My Desktop is UEFI bios and has no problem with MBR (main drive) and many GPT (1gig or higher) drives working together on Windows 10x64 Pro. So the format is really not a issue here-but you shouldn't use GPT on drives smaller then 1gig as the system will also tell you that when formatting it as well.

I still have a old 1GB flash drive and it uses MBR instead of GPT.
Reverting from UEFI/GPT to Legacy/MBR Windows installation?
