I just formatted my Toshiba laptop and for some reason, the Ricoh xD-Picture Card Disk Device doesn't install properly. It changes between saying it's working properly and saying the device cannot start. On my taskbar, there is always a blinking icon showing that the device isn't working properly. When I go to my device manager, the whole list of devices constantly blinks until I disable the Ricoh xD-Picture Card Disk Device... I've tried to uninstall it off my computer, but it always re-installs right away and the same problem occurs. I've also tried to update it but it tells me it's up to date.
Is there anyway to fix this or is my best bet to just disable it?
I'm pretty sure this program also interferes with Pinnacle Studio 12 even when I've disabled it. Before when the Ricoh xD-Picture Card Disk Device wasn't causing problems, Pinnacle Studio 12 recorded perfectly. Now that it's causing problems, Pinnacle Studio 12 won't recording properly... It's very frustrating and I'd prefer to remove the stupid device off my laptop and be done with it.
Here's a video showing you what's happening...

When you formatted your drive and reinstalled your OS, did you also install the required drivers for that XD card reader?
I just did a format and reinstall of Win 7 and it did not recognize my built in card reader. I installed the proper driver and it worked. Same problem with the webcam. -
It says the driver is up to date and everything... How would I go about finidng the required drivers?
-
Normally you would go to the computer manufacturers website and find the drivers there. Usually under support. You will need your model number.

This problem has still not been resolved. The device automatically installs itself when I uninstall it and it always gets the Code 10 error and cannot start. I've uninstalled it, I've installed the only Ricoh driver off the Toshiba website and that didn't work... Even when I disable it, it still causes problems.
I tried to delete the registry by regedit (someone mentioned this on Google), and it wouldn't let me. I need to get this sorted out soon or the only option I have is to buy a new computer... -
Looks like a faulty device to me. Maybe try disabling in bios if there is an option instead of in device manager to see if pinnacle works.

I've pretty much exhausted all options at this point, very frustrated. I think I'm just going to get a new laptop anyway.
