Is it the action of closing of the lid, or the state of the lid being closed that counts?
Which determines whether to trigger the "Sleep, Shutdown, or Do Nothing" actions?

The sensor when its like a little more than half way closed. O_O

It's the action of closing it.
I have my "lid close action" set (in adv. power mgmt.) to sleep on battery and "do nothing" when plugged in. So I run it docked with the lid closed when at my desk. When I undock it, it stays on even though the lid is closed. To sleep it I have to open the lid and then close it again. -
I suspected such. Thanks!

Oh, I thought this was a riddle/joke. Not an actual question.

It can vary a bit on how the switch is run too. Some have a switch you can activate with your finger, while others are built into the hinge. I agree, however, this its usually the action, not the state that matters (kinda like pushing the unlock button on your car - you don't have to hold it for the doors to stay unlocked)

Haha, so it wasn't really a riddle (ok maybe it was a little bit), I was just curious
