I can't seem to save any new settings or icons I place in RocketDock. I have "Store settings in a portable ini" checked. Does anyone know how to save?

So you mean, when you restart, the Dock goes back to how it was when you first installed it?

FYI, you don't have to have the "store settings in a portable ini" option checked for rocketdock to still save your settings.

Maybe try unchecking it. I don't have that checked and I don't have any problems... it remembers my settings fine.

No, I have mine checked because of Stacks Docklet. I need that checked in order for that to work. The first time i made changes it saved. So it's stuck, but I want to add more dock icons and take some off. But they don't save once i reboot or exit and restart the dock.

If you have it set to use the .ini file, the problem might be that it doesn't have permission to modify it. Where is this .ini file located? Do you have permission to modify the file? If not then you may need to add permissions for your user.

The .ini is located in c>program files>rocketdock. which permissions do i allow?

EDIT: OK That worked but it totally wiped out my stack dockets T_T
Hmm..working on it, i think i did it?
EDIT2:Yea my stacks get reset each time i refresh rocketdock. :[
    EDIT3- FIXED IT. Thx swarmer.

For future ppl, do all that^^^^
    and run RD as admin.

Uh... no. You don't want to run RocketDock as admin. I'm sure that will fix the problem. But then anything you launch from RocketDock will run as admin. Big security hole. Plus if these programs create files as admin, you may have trouble accessing those files as non-admin.

The real solution is... right-click the .ini file > Properties > Security tab > Edit > (approve UAC prompt) > select "Users" from the group name list > Check "full control" in the permissions section > Click OK.
